Tamil Nadu Pigments not providing safety measures while handling chemicals

Cuddalore, 3 June 2008: SACEM monitors report that Tamil Nadu Pigments is not handling its raw materials and chemicals within the factory safely. On 2 June the monitors noticed a huge cloud of dust around the factory. Upon further investigations found that it was caused due to the unloading of materials which was being done without a proper cover to prevent the dust from escaping from the unit.

A complaint in this regard has been sent to the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board and the Factories Inspectorate.
