CHENNAI: Steps are on to acquire 1,450 acres of land for the proposed Cuddalore thermal power project, the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has said.
In an official release here on Saturday, the Board said as per the Central Electricity Authority norms 1.1 acre of land for each mega watt was required in case of coal-based thermal power plants.
Revived
The project, which was delayed due to various reasons since 1992, was revived as promoters had complied with the conditions laid down by the Government of India, the release said.
