Four people have died in a boiler blast in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore. CM MK Stalin has announced compensation.
Four people have died and 20 injured in a boiler blast at a pesticide manufacturing industry at SIPCOT Industrial estate in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore on Thursday.
The accident occurred after a boiler on the second floor of the company exploded. Two were killed in the fire and two others reportedly died due to smoke inhalation. Twenty others working on the shift were also badly injured and moved to nearby hospitals.
CM MK Stalin has announced a compensation of Rs 3 lakh for the families of the deceased and a compensation of Rs 1 lakh will be given to the families of the 10 people who sustained critical injuries.
The public was dispersed from the area after a chemical reportedly caused eye irritation to many on the spot.
