Mettur Villagers March to save Cuddalore
PRESS RELEASE
On 5 September, 2005, Mettur and Cuddalore residents along with their supporters will begin an 8-day journey by bus and foot rallying residents en route in support of a call to prevent Mettur polluter Chemplast Sanmar from setting up a controversial and dangerous PVC factory in SIPCOT Industrial Estate, Cuddalore.
The launch date has been changed from 3 September to 5 September, because Mettur police, reportedly acting on behalf of Chemplast, have refused permission to Mettur residents to begin their march in Mettur.
