Cuddalore, 13 December 2014: The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has canceled the Consent to Establish to the IL&FS Cuddalore power plant. The announcement of this cancellation was made by the TNPCB Cuddalore District Environment Engineer to the District Collector in a meeting yesterday. The cancellation of the Consent came after the last month’s National Green Tribunal order which had quashed the Environment Clearance granted to the unit.
SACEM monitors have made a formal request with the TNPCB seeking a copy of their order canceling the Consent to the unit.
