Pollution Patrol shows no change in the pollution levels of SIPCOT; SACEM demands a TNPCB office to be set up in the complex

Cuddalore, 29 March 2006: One week after the visit of the senior officials of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, the situation in SIPCOT Cuddalore has gone back to where it was before. The latest pollution patrol indicates high level of odour emissions from the unit, something that was reported to be low during the time the official visited the area ten days ago.

SACEM observes this as a regular trend in the area that the units are informed in advance of the visits of the TNPCB so that they can get their act together. Since the surprise visits of TNPCB officials to the complex are not yielding desired results, SACEM demands a 24-hour TNPCB office in SIPCOT complex to check the situation.
